Join me on my journey to my Private Pilot License!
First off, my name is Jonathan and I was born and raised in Wisconsin and still call it home.
My love for flying started much like any other aviation enthusiast. I was probably in middle school and we were flying from Wisconsin to Oregon. Like any other kid, I called dibs on the window seat. It was a night flight and I was in awe at the beauty of the city lights below and the stars above. The cherry on top was flying over a thunderstorm and seeing the lightning from above.
Becoming a pilot was never something that crossed my mind until just a few years ago when I learned my now father-in-law had a plane, a Beechcraft Duke. Riding in that is what really piqued my interest.
My discovery flight was June 10th, 2019 and it was less than great… but we will save that story for the blog.
I had about 7 hours under my belt but had to stop because I was getting married and wedding prep took over much of my free time. Then 2020 was… well we all know what 2020 was. Here we are now, it is February 2021 and I am ready to get back into it.
The purpose of this blog is to both help me study as I peruse my PPL, and to act as a resource for others pursuing their PPL or those who may be interested in becoming a pilot! Once I get my PPL I intend to continue blogging about where things go from there!
